Zabriskie Point and Gower Gulch

My prayers are with the folks caught in the worst of the flooding, and in that context, this is pretty minor, but what happened at Zabriskie Point and Gower Gulch? It sounds like the worst of the flooding was coming from downstream of the diversion point. Did a lot of water come from above the diversion? Did Gower Gulch get changed much?
It sounds like few people have been able to approach that area, but I would be interested in learning what happened there. I have been using the area for teaching exercises for years.
