Yep, Beatty is a speed trap. Never been cited myself but over the years, I've seen lots of unforunates that have been. I decided a long time ago that when you hit that first 35mph sign coming into town from daylight pass, I'm doing 35. It's always tough to keep it at the speed limit because it seems like it slows to 35 about 10 miles out of town while you're still in desert.
The slower speed gives you the opportunity to check out the wonderful sights that comprise the "outer fringe" of Beatty. Like that house/building/castle thing south of the road that's been under construction since Lake Manly was 600 feet deep.
