When the cartetaker of the site became so ill that he was taken to a hospital or rest home, the BLM burned the building down. That was probably in 1993 because I drove to the site. Then I raised hell with the BLM because they torched the building and left a mess. Bed springs, stoves the BLM just created a junk pile and left. Shortly before Frankensteins folly passed, the BLM did come in and pick up most of their mess. As a side note, the BLM did send in some archeologists to evaluate the cabin and its contents before they torcked it. It took the archeologists and their helpers 3 days to go thru the 20 plus year collection of Playboy magazines in the cabin.
