We were in DV for only three days around the same time - 28, 29 and 30th - you didn't mention rain/ice? We saw a bit on the 30th, with dark clouds lower than the mountains.
We were in Beatty area though - did the sand dunes, nice long hike, rhyolite, then went up to Gold Point and Goldfield and checked out icicles and old cemetaries.
Unfortunately my kids got sick, which squashed a planned Golden Canyon hike and exploring around Tecopa. next time.
