Kieth, I honestly believe the rule is that you have to camp 2 miles off a developed i.e. "paved road", not 2 miles from your car, you just need to drive 2 miles on a gravel road, and camp somewhere safe...it can be by your car. Please come back alive and tell us about your experience.
