Wow! What a hike! Larry and I started up Saturday morning early. After a quick "breakfast-in a-can" we started. We had a light, start and stop rain the whole way up. The road was about a 6% grade the whole way but still in good shape. Weather was cool but enjoyable. We met a couple from Oregon 1/2 mile from the smelter stack. After getting the lowdown on the many exploration tips we made our way to town. We stayed in the main cabin in the middle of town. It was in great shape and we were able to leave the tent packed up. None of the water pumps were working. the nearest water was back downhill at Brewery Springs. Way too far to walk. We had to make do with Jack Daniels. Some sacrifies have to be made.
Sunday morning we went the Osborne to check out all hard work people put in. What a great cabin. We missed Joel Briggs by abbout 6 hours.
Sunday afternoon was spent at Panamint Springs Resort. After a nice long hot shower we spent the afternoon with our feet propped up on the veranda sipping tasty beverages. Great trip. Thanks to everyone who provided Info.
